Coach Madison’s Nutrition Journey

As we continue to share our stories as coaches, next up is Coach Madison!

“If I were to talk about how we got to this point, in detail, we may need a few more chapters! So instead I’ll break it down to this:

Having body and self image issues from a young age stemmed through to my adult life. There are still days that I am not proud of the way I look, while others I am beaming with pride for not only how my body looks, but how it feels. It’s been a constant battle for countless years.

But by finding CrossFit, I found more reasons to love my body.

I not only noticed changes in how I looked and felt, but I noticed how much my confidence sky rocketed from finding the program. The atmosphere, the accomplishment from finishing a hard workout and seeing my hard work on display every time test week rolled around, the feeling was addicting.

That’s what started this journey.

I realized through this health and fitness journey that I wanted to help people feel the same way. I wanted them to feel confident in their skin, to restore that confidence, and to better themselves in every aspect of health. At the time I wasn’t sure how I was going to translate that into a career, but I had an idea of where to start.

Once I received my CrossFit Level 1 certification, I knew it was enough to get my foot in the door. But I didn’t only want to help people move better, I wanted to have a positive impact on every part of their health, fitness, and wellness journey. Which brings us up to speed. I left my corporate job, went back to school and obtained my Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Wellness: Nutrition and Wellness. I started the nutrition program with the help and guidance of our owner Nick here at Off the Grid, and the rest, as they say, is history!”
