Treat Day!

Our next topic for this week is having a controlled “treat” day.

Many of you have probably heard the term of having a “cheat day,” but at Off the Grid nutrition we believe mindset is everything. What diet is there to “cheat” on if we’re aspiring for healthy lifestyle changes?

Let Coach Madison explain;

Coach Jill broke down what it meant to intuitively eat, which is the starting point of having a controlled treat day. It’s important not to over indulge or binge eat. Make sure that you’re enjoying your food but not to the point of feeling overly stuffed or sick.

An easy way to ensure that this doesn’t happen is to portion everything out and enjoy a serving. For example, a slice of pie rather than the whole pie.

Also think too, what foods don’t I get to enjoy often?

With the holidays coming up, many families have members with designated sides or desserts that they bring. If they only bring them for Thanksgiving or Christmas, enjoy! But if it’s just another batch of brownies, is that something you want to use one of your treats on?

The biggest takeaway from this week is to head into this day calm, cool and relaxed.

Don’t stress about stepping away for the day! As long as you follow these few tips, you’ll have all the enjoyment and none of the guilt!
