This week we’re continuing on with the next set of Intuitive Eating Principles!
Last week we broke down the first 3 principles, reject the diet mentality, honor your hunger, and make peace with food. As we dive into the next 3 principles remember to keep the first three in mind as well.
The fourth principle is Challenge the Food Police.
This principle is referring that nagging referee in your head guilting you for eating a sweet or congratulating you for eating hardly anything in the day. The diet culture is the reason for this police station living within your psyche. The sooner you can get rid of it, the sooner you can return to intuitive eating!
The fifth principle is Discover the Satisfaction Factor.
When you eat what you really want, in an environment that is inviting, the pleasure you derive will be a powerful force in helping you feel satisfied and content. By providing this experience for yourself, you will find that it takes just the right amount of food for you to decide you’ve had “enough.”
The sixth principle is Feel your Fullness.
Listen to the body for signals that tell you that you are no longer hungry and look for signs that show that you’re comfortably full!
